This is a pic from our farm in Richland, NY.
One of the chickens lays eggs like the white one in the middle.
It’s actually a small chicken.
Being different means you are special! Don’t be afraid to be a different one even if you are a little CHICKEN!!Mattison Farm Stay starts on 7/16.
Our students will go to pick up these eggs!!
On the 1st day of April, we had our first orientation for “Mattison FARM STAY 2017!”
The five students we chose from the many that applied came with their excitement.
For the first time for them to meet each other, we had an ice breaker game “Get to Know Each Other” and went over the details of the program.
The kids went home with smiles on their faces and an envelope of documents to sign.
We were very pleased to hear from many people and families who are interested in our “Farm Stay 2017” . And regret that we can’t take all of them with us this summer.
Hopefully this program will grow in the future.
We’ll continue planning to make this program super exciting and update for all to see!
殆どが初対面のこの日はお互いを知るための”Get to Know Each Other”というゲームをしたり、ファームステイアクティビティ内容などを話合いました。
How often do you think about sacrificing animals & plants when you eat?
well…in my case, not so often….until we had these tasty meats from our family’s farm.
Regardless of what other animals do,”Humans kill other animals for food.”
I usually don’t think about this when I go regular grocery shopping.
But eating fresh beef from the farm made me feel that we just took their precious lives, just so we can eat.
We eat meats and plants, we do as we must in order to survive.
Some people may think this is just the cycle of life so get over it!
But by seeing cows in the pasture happily walking around, and eating tasty beef on my plate right from the pasture…. I must honor animals by showing respect and gratitude for their “sacrifice.”
I don’t want to waste food on my plate.
I am so glad that my family can feel this way, and we have our family who runs farm in upstate NY.
We hope we can share the meaning of life and food in our future program <Farm Stay+ESL Program> someday.
